Christoph Rubach

Sculptor in Clay, Wood, Limestone, and Marble

I prefer abstract imagination, uncovering pure simple dynamics, and the inner breathing mass of form. Enjoying the exploration between convex and concave surfaces and the movement of edge into plane, as seen in nature everywhere, I title this year's work "The Surging Silence of Earth".

Presently I have been working in driftwood found at Waddel Creek near Santa Cruz, CA and Silverlake near Carson Pass, CA. I have also been trying my hand at California Granite - very hard and brittle.

I see the beautiful shapes of nature and work to bring out their forms to the fullest. It's a meditative communion with nature's beauty.
